Poland : Post-doctoral Research Associate Position-Examination of interaction of biomolecules with nanoparticles and plasmonic platforms

The successful candidate will realize a research project-Examination of interaction of biomolecules with nanoparticles and plasmonic platforms: Towards enhancement of sensitivity of molecular spectroscopy techniques.

The project will be realized in the Department of Biophysics, Institute of Physics, Maria Curie-Sklodowska University, Lublin, Poland, within the framework of the project “Molecular Spectroscopy for BioMedical Studies” financed by the Foundation for Polish Science (the TEAM program).

The contract begins on November, 1-st, 2011 and will last maximally 3 years and 8 months.

Salary: approximately 6 000 PLN/month (1 500 Euro/month)

Post-doctoral candidates:

  • must hold a PhD in physics or in other related natural science disciplines, such as: biophysics, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, etc. (obtained within the last 4 years),
  • should have an experience in carrying out scientific research in the area of application of molecular spectroscopy techniques, in research on nanoplasmonics, and in particular on interaction of organic molecules with metallic nanoparticles and plasmonic platforms, documented by publications in scientific journals,
  • should have exceptional creativity and problem-solving ability,
  • should have a fluent command of spoken and written English (knowledge of Polish is not a requirement).

  • list of published papers and communicates detailed description of previous research activity recommendation letters (at least two) with e-mail addresses and telephone numbers of recommending person
  • list of attended scientific conferences

  • the duplicate of the Ph.D. diploma or the document which certifies that candidate is a holder of a Ph.D. degree.
